Electric Aura Projects Illuminates the 2025 Invictus Games
The 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler were a celebration of resilience, determination, and the unbreakable human spirit. Electric Aura Projects was honored to play a pivotal role in bringing these Games to life, providing production and lighting design for the Opening & Closing Ceremonies, as well as lighting for wheelchair basketball, indoor rowing, and swimming.
A Dazzling Opening Ceremony at BC Place
On February 8, 2025, BC Place was transformed into a breathtaking spectacle for the Opening Ceremony. A sold-out crowd welcomed over 500 competitors from 23 nations, setting the tone for an unforgettable week. Electric Aura Project’s production and lighting design created a powerful visual narrative, enhancing performances from world-renowned artists such as Chris Martin, Katy Perry, Noah Kahan, Nelly Furtado, and Roxane Bruneau. The energy in the stadium was electrifying as Prince Harry, Founder of the Invictus Games Foundation, delivered an inspiring speech, reinforcing the values of perseverance and unity that define the Games.
Lighting the Competition
Throughout the Games, Electric Aura Project ensured that every moment of competition was optimized for both athlete performance and broadcast quality. Our lighting designs were carefully calibrated to provide clear visibility for competitors while enhancing the viewing experience for audiences both in the venue and at home. Venues included:
• Wheelchair Basketball at the Vancouver Convention Centre
• Indoor Rowing at the Vancouver Convention Centre
• Swimming at the UBC Aquatic Centre
A Memorable Closing Ceremony
The Invictus Games 2025 came to a heartfelt close on February 16, 2025. The Closing Ceremony, once again illuminated by Electric Aura Project, was a fitting tribute to the competitors, their families, and the unwavering support of the Invictus community. The evening featured powerful speeches from the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Scott Moore (CEO of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025), and Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. Their words honored the spirit of resilience and camaraderie that defined the Games.
The celebratory atmosphere was further amplified by performances from an incredible lineup of artists, including Marie-Mai, The War & Treaty, Jelly Roll, and Barenaked Ladies. Through carefully curated lighting design, Electric Aura Projects helped craft a night of reflection, gratitude, and triumph, ensuring the Games ended on a high note.
