Canucks Autism Network Gala

Electric Aura designed the lighting for the highly successful Canucks Autism Network REVEAL Gala fundraiser, held at Rogers Arena on June 9th.  With a unique set of requirements drawing on both the team’s experience in lighting large sport and stadium venues, as well as creating a polished elegant atmosphere for gala clientele – the Electric Aura Projects team were a natural choice to transform the Vancouver Canucks’ home arena into an immersive St Tropez and South of France experience.

Western Canada Summer Games

In keeping with the busy summer season, Electric Aura Projects recently finished up work on the Western Canada Summer Games at Wood Buffalo, AB.

The Western Canada Summer Games 2015 Wood Buffalo is the largest multi-sport event to be hosted in Wood Buffalo. Over 2500 athletes from Canada’s four western provinces and three northern territories, and over 14,000 guests attended the event held August 7 – 16, 2015 at Shell Place.  The 10 days of the Games also included a festival featuring guest artists, musicians, art displays and cultural performances.  – Western Canada Summer Games 2015 Website

Rob Sondergaard shortlisted for a Knight of Illumination Theatre Award 2015

We are pleased to announce that Rob Sondergaard has been shortlisted for a Knight of Illumination Theatre Award 2015 in the Dance category for A Picture of You Falling.

According to the Knight of Illumination Awards site –

The “Knight of Illumination Awards”, organised by STLDALDAmbersphere and Clay Paky, provide public recognition for the outstanding achievements of experts in Lighting Design, Video and Graphic Display and Projection Design who are working for UK productions across a range of professional areas.

Squamish Valley Music Festival

The Festival is over for another year and it was a huge success. Jason McKinnon was engaged again to be the Lighting Designer which encompassed over 81 acres of festival grounds. With 4 stages, 4 unique areas, many VIP activations and massive grounds to be lit it was a huge undertaking with over 6 months of pre planning. Artists such as Bruno Mars, Eminem and Arcade Fire were the headline bands but there was so much more to experience than just one main stage. LED lighting and over 8000 feet of festoon were strategically placed throughout the site to continue the stage vibe across the entire festival grounds which certainly created a pleasant atmosphere as you wandered across the site at night.
